Well I have taken up swimming again, but what I need is a good pair of goggles. I’ve had a bad experience with goggles, in that they didn’t fit me and water still got in.
So how do I know if goggles fit? What can I consider to be ‘good’? Are there any brands that are recommended?
it has been brought to my attention that the norm is for people to have their eyes open in the water (without goggles).. swimming pools.. beaches.. all forms of water..
what i’m wondering is.. HOW THE HELL DO YOU DO THAT?
swimming pools – the chlorine burns so badly, that frankly it’s not even worth it
beaches – can hardly see in the first place, and better yet having salt in my eye is excruciating pain
so what I do is swim with my eyes closed. sure I might look like a complete dumbass if anybody’s got goggles on or actually has their eyes open. Is there anything wrong with this? Does anybody else do this?
okay i havent gone to swimming lessons in a really long time and im training for swim team over the summer. what are my must haves to bring to swimming?
-towel
-goggles
-swim suit
…what else? duffle bag like this is good? http://www.sportsauthority.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2735814&cp=3077577.3085051.2739447&pg=1&s=A-StorePrice-TSA&searchSort=TRUE&parentPage=family

I bought a pair of Speedo Air Seals and they always seem to leak water, but I have an older pair of goggles which stop the water from leaking but they end up giving me racoon eyes after. If the goggles are too tight, is it bad for my eyes? Some advice on getting goggles would help…like what type, I know they have to suction on a little for them to fit your face.
Thanks.
There’s a meet coming up in hot hot sunny Arizona, and I don’t think I have the right goggles for that cause my swim meets are usually inside. What type of goggles does everyone else usually wear for outdoor meets?
I can’t seem to find information on the best swim masks or goggles for kids, reviews, point/counter points, size information, what is better goggles or masks, etc. It’s just for casual use in the pool this summer, nothing else.
Hi,
My myopia is pretty high. I wear powered goggles during swimming and I do just fine.
I am thinking of taking up water polo for fun. I don’t think I’ll play it competitively. But I never seen a water polo player using goggles.
Is there a rule against this?
Just how violent is the sport of water polo? Any useful information…
We’re doing swimming in gym this week, and I have contacts. I’ve already asked and my gym teacher said it’s fine that I wear goggles. My goggles are the really, really good kind from the swim store, the kind that will let literally nothing in. So I’m not worried about them leaking at all, it’s more of the worry of how I’ll look in them.
I know that basically nobody looks good in goggles, but I need them for my contacts. If I take out my contacts and don’t wear the goggles, I won’t be able to see more than two feet in front of me. I’m just worried that I’ll be the only one in the class wearing them and that I’ll be made fun of – the boys in my class are annoying beyond words and I’m a very self-conscious person. I wish I could be more "who cares!" about this whole thing, but I can’t stop stressing about it. I know that there’s no other choice and I have to wear the goggles – I guess I just need some reassurance, advice on how to be more comfortable with myself, etc.
Thanks. (:
It’s too hard to pick a best answer, you guys all helped a lot
I actually feel a lot better now. thanks (:

I am a swimmer and season has just started and I again this season am not wearing goggles. I hurts and my vision will be blurred for a couple hours afterward. But could I be doing any permanent damage to my eyes?
