Learning Swimming, need a little help..?
I am learning swimming. Getting better.
Ears. How to protect them to let water go in them? I have those one inch water stopper…any other way?
I use a nose water blocker, it is a small plastic thing which press your nose tightly, while you swim…I hate when water goes into my nose, the feeling is VERY weird.
I use a plastic cap because it keeps my hairs dry and also , wet hairs make me uncomfortable while swimming.
EYES…I use goggles, but they are grey….and I will buy new white ones. I use contact lens while swimming, and goggles makes them safe and water dont irritate my eyes.
SKIN…is there to bother for skin diseases?
Please guide me, I just want to use comfortable wears to swim comfortably.
And on daily basis, how many maximum hours one should be in water?
and any other advice, are also welcome!

I would take swimming lessons if I were you, because it seems that all this equipment is slowing you down! But if you can’t do that…here are some tips:
Ears: You’ll just have to get used to water getting in them. That’s how swimming works.
Nose: Practice going under water for a few seconds and blowing out through your nose. Eventually you’ll get better.
Cap: Good choice. It helps you keep your hair back.
Eyes: There are goggles you can buy ($20) that already include your prescription if you know it. Other wise, good choice on the goggles.
Skin: No, but the chlorine in the pool dries out your skin. Apply lotion to the dry spots or itchy spots after you swim.
Since you are a beginner, an hour would be good. Once you learn better technique and can swim laps, 2 hours is best. It’s great excercise, so good thinking!!!!

That’s a lot of stuff!
Ears: there was a guy on my swim team, and he used ear plugs, so you could try those. it makes you slower though, so if you can help it, you shouldn’t wear them.
Nose: you should probably go without the water blocker. it would be best if you just trained yourself not to breath out of your nose at all while you’re swimming. you should only breath from your mouth.
Cap: a cap is fine, but i never wore one, because it works you more. you get more results without a cap. if you’re going for speed though, definitely wear one.
Goggles: the color isn’t a big deal, just make sure they work for you. some people use the goggles with foam, and others use the ones that just have rubber. they also make a special type of goggles for speed that have no padding at all
Skin: you’re in no real danger, just make sure you lotion when you’re done swimming. the chlorine will dry you out.
Time: that depends on how old you are. if you’re about 1-9, go for about an hour. 10-12, 1 and a half hours. 13+, probably about 2 hours. but that also depends on what you’re doing during that time…
Also, it will help you a lot if you stretch before you swim. it’ll loosen you up, and keep you from getting a cramp. if you do get a cramp while you’re swimming, just stop and stretch that part of the body till it’s gone.
I hope that helped : )
